Young “Little” Edie Beale: Female, 24
Beautiful, nimble and in her youth’s prime. Bright, spirited, and
determined, despite her father’s criticisms and living in her mother’s
exuberant shadow. Mix/belt to D5, soprano to B-flat 6.
George Gould Strong: Male, 30-50
Big Edie’s accompanist, composer and confidante. Dapper fellow with a drink
and lit cigarette always nearby. He is partial to sarcasm and highballs.
Ability to play the piano is helpful, but not necessary. Lyric baritone or
tenor, C3-F4.
J.V. Major Bouvier: Male, 70’s
Big Edie’s father. Lion-like scion of business and patriarch of the family.
He is patrician and intolerant of any form of eccentricity. Baritone, C3-E4.
Brooks Sr./Brooks Jr.: African-American Male, 30-45
Family servant in Act One, and landscaper in Act Two. Handles the eccentric
Beale family and their foibles with exceptional patience. Baritone, C3-E4.
Jacqueline “Jackie” Bouvier: Female, 12 years old
Lovely, poised, and well-mannered. Juvenile mix belt, C4-E5.
Lee Bouvier: Female, 8 years old
Tomboyish, energetic, and joyful. Juvenile mix belt, C4-E5.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
