Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
While this musical has some specific character requirements in terms of
race, we welcome submissions from performers of all ethnicities and racial
backgrounds.

Additional information:
Harry Green – Male. 40’s-50. He is Stallion Manager for Windfields Farms
where NORTHERN DANCER begins his meteoric rise to stardom. (Lyric Tenor
A3-A5).

Horatio Luro – Male. 40’s- 50’s. He is the confident and stylish
Argentinian-born trainer of NORTHERN DANCER. Referred to as ‘The Grand
Señor…a bit of a con man. (Lyric Baritone G2 - F4)* (*Please note this role
may not require singing)

Donna Rossi – Female. To play late teens - early 20s. A typical early 1960’s
young woman. Bold and eager to make her mark on the world.

Willie (Bill) Shoemaker – Male. 30s-40s. Small in stature, he is confident
and charismatic ~ known as America’s most famous and successful jockey.
Actor will also play LESTER ‘MIKE’ PEARSON and DOC BANE. (Tenor Bb3 -A5).
