UPDATED 2015-2018 ITA AND ITA FEE BOOKLET NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

New material changes to the Independent Theatre Agreement (ITA) come into
effect January 4, 2016. An updated ITA Material Terms and Fee Booklet are
now available for downloading at www.caea.com.

Bringing the ITA into concordance with the Canadian Theatre Agreement (CTA),
the updated 2015-2018 ITA includes the following material changes:
• Expansion of recording opportunities, including workshops
• Audition accessibility (diverse ability)
• Requirement to post Health and Safety workplace policies
• A new simplified Company Category calculation method for touring
productions, providing for a more accurate box office potential for both
venued and non-venued companies
• Special consideration for non-member Artists touring to the U.S.A.
• New point-of-origin definition
• Updated housing and accommodation information for touring Artists
• Flexible minimum engagement period for Festivals, Showcases etc.
• Mandatory dress rehearsal
• Introduction of Engagement Level 1 and Level 2 fees replacing the
non-professional quota allowance (including Actor Apprentices) for non-TYA
activities
• All Actors, Directors, Choreographers and Fight Directors now to be signed
to ITA engagement contracts
• Grandfathering clause for community outreach activities

Please note the following:
• The Artistic Director shall still be required to be signed to an ITA
engagement contract for any production he/she directs
• Employment status for stage management personnel will remain negotiable
between the Artist and the Theatre
• Tangerine Project terms from the CTA will not be incorporated in the
2015-2018 ITA
