Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: 
The Station Arts Centre welcomes Canadian actors of all ethno-cultural
backgrounds.

Singing is required for all roles, playing an instrument (accordion,
guitar, fiddle, bass)is an asset.

Priority will be given to Saskatchewan applicants.

Character Descriptions:

Pal Grandfield: a middle-aged broke farmer searching for a sense of
power.

Liza Grandfield: Pal's wife. A prairie warrior woman anxious about
getting too old to have children.

Butterball: A swee hen; a lusty and lonely aging beauty queen.

His Nibs: A rooster suffering from fear and loss of confidence,
particularly with his masculinity. 

Alphonso: A rooster; all machismo; proud, aggressive, sexy and playful.

Stewer: A  mass-production laying hen; strong, loyal and passionate and
feels unworthy of love. 

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
