The Umbrella, created by Mercedes Bátiz-Benét and the Old Trout Puppet Workshop's Judd Palmer.  
This a touring show that plays to elementary schools in the province of Alberta. The team is responsible for loading set up and strike of the set at each school location.
 
The successful candidate must reside in Calgary. 

This Puente Theatre and Old Trout Puppet Workshop co-production, based on the book shortlisted for Canada's Governor-General's Award for Children's Literature, written and illustrated by Judd Palmer, is being adapted to a school audience with support from Quest Theatre.   
 
The Umbrella is a story about an umbrella who enjoys protecting a man in a dreary, soggy land. But what happens when the umbrella is broken by a storm and can no longer keep the man dry? A surprising fable about love and loyalty, the story is told with puppets and a spectacular music composition by a Balkan brass marching band, Bucan Bucan. The set is a theatrical-storm contraption, complete with thunder sheet, wind machine, and rainspout.
