Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
Common Roof is committed to achieving gender equity in hiring and play
selection, while being intentional about seeking to engage artists from
diverse backgrounds. We are specifically interested in submissions from
actors of colour for the role of Aaron.

Additional information:
Common Roof is seeking an actor for their Spring 2016 production of Little
One by Hannah Moscovitch, directed by Nathan Carroll, stage managed by Erika
Morey, and featuring Caroline Toal as Claire.

AARON: mid 20s - early 30s to play from childhood to current age.  Aaron is
adoptive sibling to Claire, a troubled and violent girl with a dark past.
He grows up in the suburbs of Ottawa and must confront the reality of his
new sister as he grows up and--as the play begins--she comes back into his
life in sinister fashion.

Must be a strong actor, ideally experienced with 1 or 2-hander plays.

LITTLE ONE is the 3rd production from Common Roof, a theatre company devoted
to producing productions of existing Canadian plays at the Old Town Hall in
the welcoming community of Norfolk County.  Little One will rehearse in
Toronto and be performed in Waterford, Ontario.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
Fair artist compensation is an extremely high priority for Common Roof.
