Additional information:
We’re inviting artists to a general audition, meet and greet, and/or show
and tell for self-identified artists of colour. Its purpose is to allow
those artists to share their practice with Neworld and maybe a few others in
the Vancouver community.

We’re interested in meeting artists of various disciplines. You can decide
to do what you think best reflects the aspect of your practice you’re most
interested in: performing text (monologue), song, dance, music; some of your
writing; a musical presentation; a presentation of one or several elements
of sound, light, projection, set, props, costume, or other design; a stage
management presentation, etc. We ask that you limit presentations to 3-5
minutes.

Even as a company that does a lot of work around questions of inclusion and
diversity, we recognize that we don’t meet nearly enough artists of colour
on a regular basis, and so are underexposed to work that is happening in our
own city. This is an attempt to deal with that.

Neworld Theatre is hosting this event. We may ask a small number of
additional producing artists, Artistic Directors, or other members of the
community to attend.
