Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
SoCo Theatre encourages submissions from performers of all cultural
backgrounds.

Additional information:
Receiving inconclusive prenatal test results, an expectant mother sets out
to make peace with her past in order to find the strength to embrace her
future. What she uncovers about her birth mother however, does nothing to
put her fears about her own pregnancy to rest.

SoCo Theatre is accepting submissions for the Premiere production of WELL
BORN, written by Celeste Percy-Beauregard. The production will take place at
Artscape Youngplace, directed by Michelle Alexander.

CHRIS (Male, any ethnicity, 28-40) – Laid-back, sweet, and a bit dorky.
Loves his wife, but is clueless as to how to support her through this
difficult time.

BABY (Female, any ethnicity, 25-40) – The voice of a plastic Baby Doll.
Looking for an actor with comedic experience, strong vocally.

The actor who plays BABY will also play:
ELIZABETH’S DOCTOR – pragmatic, again, we will be relying on voice for this
role.
OTHERED MOTHER – this is a brief, physical role.
GROUP HOME WORKER – poised, intelligent, and compassionate.

Rehearsals:
February 1, 2016 – February 24, 2016

Performances:
February 25-27, 2016 and March 3-5, 2016.
