Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
We are seeking performers, and are open to submissions from all cultures,
ethnicities and genders. Recent Theatre grads are strongly encouraged to
apply.

Additional information:
Set in 2002, Boys from The Burbs is a comedic coming-of-age story about a
group of young adolescents chasing their new-found passions in life. Will
they achieve their dreams? Or settle for a mundane life in the suburbs?
Trees are climbed, video games are played, tombs are explored, and someone
might even go over to a girl’s house in this new and exciting play by Michal
Grzejszczak.

Performances Nov 19-29

Victor – The glue that holds the group together, though he may not know it.
Loyal, observant and compassionate, he is outgrowing his passion for chicken
wings.

Cameron – An escapist. Honest, innocent and a tad self-conscious, he takes
pride and security in his video games.

Angelo – A romantic. Peaceful, creative and intelligent, but obsessive, he
lets his love for Mme Beaulieu consume him.

Marla – A mystery. Clever, quirky and imaginative, but troubled, a past
tragedy has left her an outsider with serious anxiety.

Mme Beaulieu – The boys’ French teacher. Cheerful and caring but ultimately
human, her pride in her star pupil, Angelo, clouds her judgement.

The kids are around age 12, however we are casting adults. Each part
involves other minor characters. Sides will be provided.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
