Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: Carousel Theatre
for Young People is committed to diversity in its casting and welcomes
submissions from all ethnic/cultural backgrounds for all auditions.

Additional information: Carousel Theatre for Young People is seeking trained
adult actors for their production Sultans of the Street by Anusree Roy,
directed by Marcus Youssef. Auditions will be held in Vancouver.

Contract dates are expected to be from October 6th to November 13th 2016.

Casting Breakdown:

Prakash – Male, twelve years old, lower middle class family. South Asian

Ojha – Male, ten years old, Prakash’s younger brother, stutters, lower
middle class family. South Asian.

Mala – Female, ten years old, street kid. South Asian.

Chun Chun – Male, seven years old, Mala’s younger brother, street kid. South
Asian.

*Aunty – Female, mid-forty’s, has a slight limp. South Asian

*Aunty also plays Pao-Bhaji-Wallah – a 700 year old wise man, Mustache Man,
and the various people on the street.

auditions at carouseltheatre.ca. Only those selected for an audition will be
contacted. Auditions will be held in Vancouver on May 9 and 10, 2016

Deadline for submissions: April 30, 2016

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
