Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: Please note that
we strongly encourage all interested artists from all cultural backgrounds,
shapes and sizes to submit, however please respectfully regard the character
descriptions indicated.  Only those selected will be contacted for an
audition.

Additional information: Black Theatre Workshop and Tableau D’Hôte Theatre
will be holding auditions in Montreal for the upcoming co-production of
Angélique by Lorena Gale. Artists who wish to be considered for this
production please submit a headshot and resume to
submissions at blacktheatreworkshop.ca.

We are looking to cast the following roles (Please visit site for additional
character information):

ANGÉLIQUE:   Black Female, late 20s to 30s; A slave – in a Canadian History
Book.

CÉSAR:     Black Male, 30s; A slave – owned by Ignace Gamelin.  Lover to
Angélique.

CLAUDE:   Caucasian Male, 30s; An indentured servant of France belonging to
the de Franchevilles.  Lover to Angélique.

MANON:   Indigenous Female, 20s; A slave to the de Berays (neighbours of the
de Franchivilles).

Rehearsals begin: February 13, 2017
Performances: March 16 to April 2 (possible extension to April 9)

Selected artists will be contacted as of the week of May 2, 2016

Those selected for an audition will be given sides to prepare and partnered
with another actor.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
