Rumble Theatre seeks actors for a development workshop of Titus Bouffonius
by Colleen Murphy.

Titus Bouffonius is a new play by Governor General’s Award-winning
playwright Colleen Murphy, adapted from Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus and
commissioned by Rumble Theatre. Five actors – outcasts from the invented
Society of the Misshapen and Destitute – attempt to perform a contemporary
version of “Titus” that one of them has penned...but they sometimes forget
their lines, or say what they want to, or refuse to stay dead when they are
killed. Part Shakespeare, part Brecht, the play also incorporates the French
theatre tradition of bouffon (a form of clown that focuses on mockery and
extreme physical satire).

Creative team includes Rumble’s AD Stephen Drover and Michael Kennard (Mump
& Smoot).

Audition requirements:

*  One Shakespeare monologue of your choice
*  One three-minute original bouffon piece OR a three-minute original clown
piece OR a three-minute original physical theatre piece

Submit a headshot and resume to rumble at rumble.org with the subject line:
“Titus audition” by January 9, 2017. We will reply to those selected with an
audition time.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
