Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
WE ARE SEEKING ACTORS OF DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS  FOR 10 DIFFERENT ROLES.

All actors must be comfortable with some basic singing and dancing (though
this is not a musical) and good team players. Comedy, puppetry and improv
experience a plus. Comfortable doing Theatre for Young Audiences.

with a note stating which characters you are interested in reading for, by
Feb 24, 2016. Auditions will be February 28th, 2016 downtown at 132 Fort
York Blvd. with possible callbacks March 6th.

SYNOPSIS: The "Funky Punckies "are a family of Punctuation Marks forced to
work together.

CHARACTERS:
FULL STOP
A bit of a snob. (British accent a plus).

EXCLAMATION MARK
Is very excitable and centre of attention. A Huge energy a must.

COMMA
Always organized, this character is quick to be distressed when things are
not going their way.

QUESTION MARK.
Is childlike and curious. Always wants to know what is going on, but is not
quite knowledgeable.

APOSTROPHE
Is very business oriented and an investigator.

DASH
A fast and furious Ninja. Acrobatics and Martial Arts experience a plus.

COLON: The cool person. Smooth. A person who likes to leave people wanting
more.

SEMI COLON: a poet. Artistic and creative. Likes to think outside the box.

QUOTATION MARKS: Likes to be a part of things. A side kick, practical joker.

PASSAGE: A writer. Feeling somewhat lost and misunderstood. Should be a
relatable character. A quiet confidence necessary. The voice of the kids in
the audience.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
