Additional information:
The Production Assistant/Carpenter will work directly with the Technical
Director, Artistic Director and Stage Management team in the production of
the theatre’s 4-show summer series. Chief among the position’s tasks will be
executing the duties of assistant carpenter in the construction of the
season’s show sets. The position also involves working with all production
elements including sound, lighting, props and running crew duties.
Candidates will be currently enrolled in or graduated from a theatre
production program at the college or university level and/or have comparable
experience as a professional theatre carpenter and technician. In addition
to experience with the tools and techniques of set construction, the
candidate should also be familiar with all areas of production. Experience
with scenic painting will be considered an asset but not a requirement. The
candidate should demonstrate a good work ethic, excellent and proven
problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to use time
effectively in meeting deadlines and achieving goals as part of a team as
well as independently.
