Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: Essential
Collective Theatre encourages submissions from people of all ethnicities and
cultural backgrounds.

Additional information: Essential Collective Theatre is holding auditions
for the 2016/2017 season. ECT produces at the new FirstOntario Performing
Arts Centre in St. Catharines under the Independent Theatre Agreement. We
are especially interested in hearing from actors in the Niagara/Hamilton
area. Submissions will be accepted for the following:

THE FIGHTING DAYS by Wendy Lill
Set in Winnipeg between 1910-1917, the play follows the fight for women's
rights to vote in Canada during WWI.
Directed by Monica Dufault
Rehearsals begin: October 4, 2016
Open: October 27, 2016
Close: November 13, 2016

Roles Available:
George McNair - Editor of the Rural Review, in his late thirties

THE DRAWER BOY by Michael Healey
Directed by Monica Dufault
A young actor from the city comes to live and work on a Southern Ontario
farm as research for a new play.
Rehearsals begin: January 31, 2017
Open: February 23, 2017
Close: March 5, 2017

Roles Available:
Morgan - Ontario farmer, in his fifties
Angus - Ontario farmer, in his fifties
Miles - Actor from Toronto, in his twenties
