Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: Evolution Dance
Theatre wants to inspire social change as well as entertain – and share the
values of peace and inclusiveness through art. A progressive performance
company comprised of artists of many different cultural backgrounds reflects
and celebrates Toronto’s rich diversity.

This is a Broadway style Middle eastern spectacle. The show is on September
22-25th, 2016 at Richmond Hill Centre for the Arts. It is a
multidisciplinary and multimedia production. The show has a global cast of
over 45 with different dance genres, live and recorded music, pre-recorded
videos to give the background of the story, acting, storytelling and digital
media.

This is a Middle Eastern love story of taboo and tradition. "Follow Your
Heart" showcases a fusion of global heritage, and yet allows you to
experience the real Middle Eastern culture.

Follow Your Heart is a Broadway style Middle Eastern show with a global cast
of more than 45 artists with dances of different genres, acting, haunting
music both live and recorded, a story teller, pre-recorded videos to give
the back drop of the story, set décor, digital media, special effects and
beautiful imagery to transport the audience on a wondrous journey into the
depths of human spirit.

"Follow Your Heart" is about a modern Middle Eastern woman, Almaza, who is
in love with a traditional man, Jivan. Their love is irresistible, yet
doomed as he is bound by tradition and his culture. It is a journey of a
woman who fights for love against all odds, against her culture and
traditions. What starts as a love story of taboo and tradition in Toronto
travels to Middle East and back again, to end up in a world where other
cultures and traditions join in to help their love prevail.

Equity members hired will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
