EQUITY BYLAW UPDATES - MARCH 2016

Equity's Council encourages all members to be familiar with the rules that
govern membership in our Association. Electronic copies of the current
bylaws are always posted for review or download in the "Document Library"
section of EQUITYONLINE, and are available in print format upon request to
the Association.

Article 13, dealing with membership withdrawal, was amended to standardize
the language used across several subsections for increased clarity. No
substantive changes were made.

Article 107, dealing with the Equity RRSP, was changed to:

   ◦  include mention of the standard contribution rate of 6% and source
deductions;
   ◦  acknowledge that some scale agreements include different RRSP
arrangements;
   ◦  incorporate provisions for members ineligible to contribute by virtue
of age;
   ◦  specify reimbursement for funds erroneously deducted by theatres on
behalf of artists ineligible to contribute; and
   ◦  update the name of the Actors’ Fund of Canada to The AFC.

Other than this last change, the updates only recognize existing and
longstanding practice that had not previously been part of the bylaws.
