PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION
Her father’s sudden disappearance catapults the intrepid Lauren Yee on a
fantastic journey through the heart of San Francisco’s Chinatown, where she
confronts a world both foreign and familiar.
- Actors will be asked to prepare selected sides from the play

Run dates October 13th, 2016 – October 22nd, 2016

Gateway Theatre is seeking four actors to portray various Asian characters
as follows:

LAUREN
Lauren is a feisty, resourceful playwright who must negotiate her way
through the rabbit hole of San Francisco’s Chinatown in search of her
father.

ACTOR 1
the erhu player, Parke Skelton, Shrimp Boy, a Lum elder, the Sichuan face
changer, the museum narration voice. This role requires musical talents and
is considered very physical. Skills in these areas as well as the ability to
play a musical instrument are an asset.

ACTOR 2
Jenny Pang, the first lion dance, Betty Yee, the FBI agent, a Lum elder, the
whiskey seller. Having strong movement/dance experience would be an asset.

ACTOR 3
Danny Ma, Leland Yee, the hand, the chiropractor, a Lum elder, the second
lion dance, the model ancestor, Dr. Ho. Having strong movement/dance
experience would be an asset.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
