Equity Showcase and The Cayle Chernin Memorial Fund are proud to announce
major changes to the 6th Annual Cayle Chernin Awards to be held at
The Heliconian Hall Wednesday May 17, 2017 at 7:30.

Established in 2012 to honour the life and work of actor, documentary
filmmaker, writer, teacher and mentor Cayle Chernin (1947 - 2011).
The Cayle Chernin Awards are presented to emerging or transitioning,
professional association or union affiliated female artists to assist in
the creation, development or production of a new work.
The Cayle Chernin Memorial Fund and Equity Showcase are very proud of the
past recipients of the CCA’s: Collette Micks (M), Susanna Fournier
(T), Fenulla Jiwani (M), Melissa D’Agostino (M), Audrey Dwyer (T), Jani
Lauzon (M) and Andrea Scott (T).

>From 2012 to 2014 the Cayle Awards in Theatre and Media Arts rotated.
2015, 2016 both awards were presented. And for 2017 in addition to two new
awards and the increased cash prize, we are proud and fortunate to have
CSARN (Canadian Senior Artists Resource Network) Mentorships to support
the work of the Recipients:

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES:
The CCA Media Arts Award: Production and the CCA Theatre Award: Production
each comprise an increased Cash Prize of $2500.00 plus access to a
respected, paid Industry Mentor through CSARN (Canadian Senior Artists
Resource Network) www.csarn.ca, and traditionally the CCAs in Production
receive in-kind industry services, TBD.
Investment, Experience and Services.

The NEW CCA Theatre: Development and the CCA Media Arts: Development each
comprise a $1000.00 Cash Prize and access to a respected paid Industry
Mentor through CSARN (Canadian Senior Artists Resource
Network) www.csarn.ca.
Investment and Experience.

Applications are open @ www.caylecherninaward.ca. Submission deadline is
February 17, 2017.
