Additional information:
The SPC of Peel is seeking a facilitator for the Exploratory Theatre
Workshop project. The purpose of the project is to enhance well-being among
seniors.

5 to 10 hours per month

Responsibilities
o Define workshop outcomes
o Plan workshops and appropriate activities
o Prepare handouts and other workshop materials
o Teach seniors various aspects of storytelling, acting, and theatre
o Facilitate workshops
o Encourage a sense of curiosity, creativity, and camaraderie among seniors
o Foster a safe and inclusive workshop environment
o Self-evaluate the impact of workshops on seniors
o Provide post-workshop support

Required Qualifications and Skills
o A postsecondary credential in theatre or the performing arts
o At least 3 years of experience in theatre or the performing arts
o Proficiency in verbal communication, teaching methods, Microsoft Word, and
Microsoft PowerPoint
o Proficiency in planning and leading workshops
o Proficiency in collaborating with others
o Mindfulness about ethnically and racially diverse people
o A high level of initiative
o Proficiency in Cantonese, Punjabi, Spanish, or Urdu is an asset but not
mandatory
o Prior experience with sociology is an asset but not mandatory
o Prior experience with teaching adults is an asset but not mandatory
