Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: Speakeasy
Theatre is dedicated to sharing stories that speak to the complexity and
cultural richness of our immediate urban Canadian community and our extended
global network. The Shipment is a multi layered performance piece that
explores the nuances, challenges, and stereotypes associated with Black
identity. The piece is told by 5 black performers who play a wide array of
characters. We encourage performers to submit regardless of gender.

Additional information:
The unique demands of this piece requires performers with the ability to
transform physically, emotionally & vocally in order to portray numerous
characters.

Along with sides, please be prepared to sing a 30 second song, accapella.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
