Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: The Firehall
Theatre Society/Firehall Arts Centre practices inclusive casting and its
mandate is to reflect the cultural pluralism of Canada in its commitment to
producing and presenting theatre and dance.

Additional information:
Only Drunks and Children Tell the Truth is written by Drew Hayden Taylor and
the Firehall production will be directed by Columpa C. Bobb. It is the story
of two First Nations sisters who re-unite after their mother's death. Janice
(36) was taken for adoption when she was a baby as part of the '60's
scoop-up of Aboriginal children and now has a successful career in Toronto.
Barb (24) still lives on the Reserve.  Other cast members include Rodney
(25), Barb's boyfriend and his brother, Tonto (32).

We are reading for all of the roles. To be considered for the audition,
please submit a head shot and resume by August 17th. Only those selected for
audition will be notified and if you are from outside of Vancouver, we will
consider video auditions.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
