Additional information:
Jason Pierce - 31 year old Canadian half-Indigenous man. (Video auditions
accepted. Video should include readings of three scenes from the play: pages
16-21, 38-44, 79-85. Scene pages available from Neptune.)
Harry Deiter - 34 year old American non-Indigenous man (Must audition in
person in Halifax - casting will be done within the region. No video
submissions for this role, please.)
Jason Pierce is packing up his urban apartment to return to life on the
reserve where he grew up. As he’s leaving, he is paid an unexpected visit by
Harry Deiter, who awkwardly introduces himself as Jason’s half-brother. What
Harry wants from Jason is bizarre: to be compatibility-tested for a possible
kidney donation to their dying non-Indigenous father, a man Jason has no
memory of ever meeting and who, after a brief and secret affair, abandoned
Jason’s mother when he was two months old.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
