This course is geared both to writers and those intending to work with
writers: it is open to playwrights and other theatre artists exploring
creation through writing. The work will include: in-class writing exercises;
practical discussions on working with playwrights, dramaturgs and directors;
and expectations for playwrights in a workshop environment. Participants
will be asked to write and read new material aloud throughout the course and
to do assignments between classes.

expanding their sensory and emotional awareness as well as taking physical
risks.  Exercises in physical exploration will develop your impulses from
idea to actualization, and create narrative threads that form a story.
Non-verbal communication (mask, clown, and corporeal mime) will be used to
tap your creative centre with playful curiosity and optimism, unlocking the
“physical voice” of your artist within.
