Additional information:
Western Canada Theatre is looking for Apprentice Stage Management to join
the emerging artist ensemble of the (Re)Imagine Series, a series programmed
in recognition of Canada's 150th Anniversary and the recommendations from
the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The series explores the
relationship between the Indigenous peoples and the settlers in Canada from
different perspectives.
The (Re)Imagine Series features the world premiere of THE CURE FOR DEATH BY
LIGHTNING, by Gail-Anderson Dargatz, adapted and directed by Daryl Cloran,
as well as ONLY DRUNKS AND CHILDREN TELL THE TRUTH, by Drew Hayden Taylor,
directed by Lorne Cardinal.
CONTRACT DATES:
The Cure for Death by Lightning: March 9 – April 15, 2017
Only Drunks and Children Tell the Truth: April 16, 2017 – May 13, 2017
The Apprentice SM will work closely with the Stage Manager and Assistant
Stage Manager during rehearsals and the subsequent running of the
production. The Apprentice SM must have training and/or experience with
tasks associated with stage management. Additional on-the-job training will
be provided. Familiarity and understanding of Indigenous culture and
perspectives is an asset.
