VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT EQUITY

Looking to Volunteer? Been feeling that the time has come to get to know
your Association better? Think you'd like to volunteer some time to help
Equity and your fellow members?

Occasionally, Equity needs the participation of members on volunteer
committees, for certain projects or to represent Equity on industry
committees and at events. These committees and/or projects can take place
in any region of this country (not just in Toronto) so we are looking for
interested members from every province. These are some of the
circumstances where volunteers could be needed.

* PAL - Performing Arts Lodges. PAL has chapters across the country and
regularly seeks to have a local Equity member involved in their various
committees. There is no particular set of skills required other than a
sincere desire to assist your colleagues in the industry and the ability
to commit some time.

* Charity events - various industry related charities, including PAL and
the Actors' Fund, have fund raising activities. Those activities have
included board game and golf tournaments and seasonal activities. There is
no particular set of skills required for these types of activities other
than a genuine interest in the activity and the ability to commit some
time.

* On occasion, Equity seeks participants for other types of activities
including committees dealing with a particular collective agreement or
dispute resolution committees. A significant knowledge of the particular
agreement or previous experience in a specific area of our jurisdiction
would likely be required from all participants and the final choice of
participants would rest with the Executive Director.

Equity will put your name on the list for when an opening comes up.
