Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: The Chemainus
Theatre Festival welcomes and encourages submissions from artists of diverse
backgrounds.

Additional information:

Show: The Cornwall's All-Inclusive Cancun Christmas.  A 1980's comic revue.
The story is wacky and heart-warming sequel to Countryside Christmas (2011).
All actors must possess solid comic and singing abilities. Ability to play
instruments is an asset, though many work-arounds are available.

Auditions will be held in Vancouver. In order to extend equal opportunity to
Artists who reside outside of the Theatre’s point of origin and who cannot
audition in person due to location, Artists may submit demo-reels to the
Theatre for consideration.

Tommy:  20's.  Canadian citizen from Vancouver Island.  Hard rock and heavy
metal enthusiast.  Ability to play guitar solos a strong asset.

Fernando:  25-35.  Mexican citizen living outside Cancun. Enthusiastic,
adventurous, affable. Resort host. Ability to speak some Spanish and dance
an asset.

Delila:  25-30.  Mexican citizen from small village. Engaging, mysterious
and also a hard rock enthusiast.  Ability to play guitar solos and sing
strong rock vocals an asset.

Judy:  50.  Canadian citizen from Vancouver Island.  Folksy, fierce,
forthright.  Solid belt.

Three additional roles are available - though candidates have been
shortlisted.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
