Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: The University
of Saskatchewan, situated on Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the

the city is also a centre of Aboriginal cultural, social, artistic, and

Additional information:
Applications are invited for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor
position in the Department of Drama at the University of Saskatchewan to
begin July 1, 2018.  ($93,293  to $112,109) The candidate will serve as
Coordinator of our wîcêhtowin Theatre Program (WTP), leading to a
Certificate in Indigenous Theatre, and be active as an
artist/scholar/educator in all aspects of the department. Qualifications:
terminal degree in the field (typically M.F.A. with substantial record of
professional  theatre experience) and extensive teaching/theatrical
experience, especially in embedding Indigenous performance, cultural and
creative methodologies into university curricula. Administrative experience
is essential, including successful establishment of Indigenous theatrical
initiatives, knowledge of funding agencies, track record of liaison roles
with First Nations communities. The candidate should be well-versed in
Indigenous/First Nations/First Peoples theatre, performance, production, and
one or more of: acting, directing, playwriting, design, technical theatre,
and/or scholarly research and publication. Preference will be given to
outstanding Indigenous candidates (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit). Submit
