Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: Maadookii
Seniors Group encourages submissions from artists of all ethno-cultural
backgrounds.

Additional information:
Maadookii Seniors Group and the Canadian Federation of University Women Owen
Sound and Area is seeking a Theatre Director to oversee the staging of the
new epic play, THE HISTORY OF NAWASH by Jeremy Proulx, adapted from the
graphic novel, The Illustrated History of the Chippewas of Nawash, by Polly
Keeshig-Tobias.

A school project launches two young teens on a revealing journey through
their community's dramatic history, brought to life by their grandparents’
vibrant storytelling.

This 40+ character, multimedia community production involving professional
artists and local residents is to be mounted at Neyaashiinigmiing (Cape
Croker), Ontario.

Target date for opening:  June 2018

Requirements:
Knowledge and understanding of indigenous culture
Insight and experience in community-based theatre
Passionate about engaging others in collaborative artistic vision and
production
Must be able to coordinate effectively across a range of disciplines
Extensive directing experience
