In this intensive, day long course you will learn techniques employed to
attain an authentic British Accent. Exercises for clarity and articulation
will be taught to support the shape of the accent.

What participants can expect to learn from this Accent Workshop:
Study and practice the accents of Received Pronunciation (British Standard),
Cockney and Estuary.

Learn to apply the accent to your scripts.
Vocal warm up with a focus on accent acquisition.

LEVEL 1 - Nov. 17, 18 & 19 (for artists with previous or no training in
physical theatre; ideal also as a review for those who have studied
Corporeal Mime before):

Artists at first will learn the segmentation, articulation, geometric, and
precise application of gestures that are essential to their physical
movements - the “What.”

LEVEL 2 - Nov. 24, 25 & 26 (prerequisite, level 1)

Artists at this level will learn more advanced, 3 dimensional and interwoven
compositions of Corporeal Mime as related to a variety of different motifs
and set performance pieces.

Cost: $325 per weekend or $25/hr for each day
20% discount for ACTRA/CAEA members
