[CANUFNET] Software

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to recommend software programs
capable of mapping(GIS) existing green spaces as well as serve to create new
designs plans. Preferably urban forest specific. Any comments as to their
benefits and pitfalls is greatly appreciated. Any information about computer
requirements is also appreciated.
