[CANUFNET] Beech Bark Disease

Retaining the Beech for as long as possible is the correct thing to do in 
my opinion. 
Consideration has to be also given  to the factor  of Beech in my 
experience, when they are greater than 0.50 m in diameter, there should be 
increased monitoring for development of the internal decay that seems to 
occur as the tree increases in diameter and age.  This is some cases is 
evident by the out of round trunk, flat spotting, and indentations that 
appear.   Upper canopy wounds from breaking branches and subsequent decay 
also contribute to the higher lever of assessment  in areas where there is 
access by people.
