Very sorry to hear of  the passing of Prof. Erik. I studied as a graduate student under Erik and graduated with the MScF degree as the 2'nd 
graduate in Urban Forestry in Canada as well as the first UF Forester to work in the municipal forestry field. 
I was most fortunate to visit him and his wife last year in Guelph and exchange memories of UofT as well as how advanced the Urban Forestry
field has developed. 
Erik was a true pioneer in the UF field.
He will be sadly missed.

I'm very sorry to have to report that Erik Jorgensen passed away inGuelph a week or so ago.  Most of you will know that Erik was thefirst to define the term Urban Forestry and, in many ways, his work atthe Shade Tree Lab at U of T in the 60's formed the beginnings of ourfocus these days.
