Hello Martha,

I hope you are enjoying our lovely winter weather this year. I planted two Lord Selkirk sugar maples this year here in Assiniboine Park. I planted one earlier in the spring and it seemed to take very well, the other one was planted in late summer but had to be moved and didn't seem to like that very much. They were both B&B trees about 8' in height, I will be sure to keep you informed with how they overwintered and their performance going forward.

Subject: [CANUFNET] Lord Selkirk sugar maple

Has anyone planted Lord Selkirk sugar maple (Acer saccharum ‘Jefselk’) or have any experience / data related to its performance on the prairies? I believe this cultivar was released in 2012 and is a seedling strain.

Thanks,
