CUFC11 are pleased to announce the Plenary and Breakout Sessions for the upcoming confrence, to be hosted in Victoria, British Columbia, from Tuesday September 30 - Thursday October 2, 2014.

1B - Confronting the Growing Threats to the Urban Forest
2A & 2B - Showcasing innovation in Urban Forest Research, Funding, Planning, Practice and Design
3A & 3B - Community-based Solutions to Urban Forest Challenges
4A – Trending Case Studies in Urban Forest Research and Technology
4B – Feedback Wanted: The UBC’s  new Urban Forestry Degree Program

These exciting sessions will explore some of most pressing challenges faced by cities today and how current civilizational paradigms function to perpetuate and exacerbate these challenges. From this foundation, the conference will explore how innovative planners, designers, political leaders and scholars are re-imagining the city of the future.  The conference will showcase how urban forests may be proposed, planned and designed to better support healthy, self-sustaining urban habitats and the diverse communities—both human and non-human—that they support. The conference brings together leading experts to share knowledge and stimulate dialogue towards effective collaborations.
