‎Hi Tony,
This might be too different and preaching to the choir again. The attached is a playground in Angus my kids and I stopped at. I found it so encouraging the preservation of the mature Pines. It was really quite beautiful. ‎New playground, splash pad...the retention of mature trees, or to attempt to incorporate into designs, is truly something we need to keep trying to help planners, engineering, designers understand. Sometimes it is supporting them to retain them. Often they are not comfortable assuming the risks, and may not know how to "properly" preserve.

I hope the picture helps.

>> We have an existing strip mall here in Elora/Fergus Ontario which is planning an expansion into a mature woodlot. I’d like to talk with the owner about ways that he could enhance the expansion by retaining some of the trees. I’ll be better able to make the case with pictures of existing strip malls that incorporate mature trees. I wonder if anyone on this list serv might have images that they would be able to share? If so, please email me directly at toniellis at cogeco.ca . Many Thanks! Toni Ellis
