Hi everyone,
I am a principle of a startup company called Humanitree. We offer an alternative to the burial and memorial of our loved ones (people and pets) by planting their cremains in one of our urns and with it, a tree sapling.
As part of our offering, we suggest that the biodegradable urn and sapling be buried in a larger plant pot at least at the beginning to ensure a healthy start to the tree’s life. But we are also trying to secure areas of land where our clients could plant their Humanitree where we can ensure its continued growth.
Ideally we would like to create a strategic relationship with owners of existing parks, leash-free parks or wherever a tree needs to be.
I would be grateful for any suggestions, ideas, concerns and critiques that you as professionals in this area may have. Our intention is to provide people with a way that they can celebrate the next life stage of their loved one while providing another healthy tree to the community.
