Hosted in partnership with the Eastern Ontario Model Forest and the Ottawa
Valley Section of the Canadian Institute of Forestry, this year’s annual
Christmas Forest Seminar will focus on the urban and near-urban forest.

Discussions on this subject have traditionally been about around selling
the concept that trees are important to have in and around urban centres.
However, with changes to our climate, and the increasing awareness about
the direct health links between humans and nature, our "want" is
transforming more into a "need". We will be hosting a range of speakers
from across Ontario who work within our urban and near-urban forests to
share their perspectives how they manage this critical resource.
