Hello all,

I would like your advice on setting up a partnership between FortisBC (electricity services) and a tree network who would find value in fallen trees and woodchips in south central British Columbia. FortisBC removes approximately 3000 trees and various shrubbery every year to maintain safe access to our electric lines. Most of our electric service territory is rural and the number of trees would skew towards the Kootenays. The varieties would be mostly pine and fir.

The FortisBC electric service territory serves approximately over 176,000 customers throughout south central BC, including Kelowna, Osoyoos, Trail, Castlegar, Princeton and Rossland and approximately 48,500 customers in the communities of Summerland, Penticton, Grand Forks, and Nelson. The company owns and operates approximately 7,200 kilometres of transmission and distribution power lines.

If you could direct me to anyone or networks who would be interested in these trees and/or free wood chips in these areas that would be much appreciated. Much of the shrubbery and some trees would be chipped on the removal site.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any suggestions or questions at tina.stockport at fortisbc.com.

Thank you in advance,
Tina
