We just received our tender for 40mm b&b. Approximately 350 per tree planted with 2 year warranty. Add 10% for larger 60mm b&b supplied and planted as per contractor prices. We plant smaller tree. Find that they adapt quicker and is easier to manage their survival over the first 2 years. We have found that he smaller tree will be the same size as the larger after 5 years of growth. We also fertilize our tree for the first 2 years. Town staff do the work, but we have found that is adds about 30 dollars to the price of each tree. That puts a Street tree as well as park tree at around 350 to 400 dollars per tree depending on the specie. We have a variety of trees that are planted. We plant no Maples, Linden, Oaks, Locust or Gingko. We simply have too many.Hope this helps,

Good Morning,
The City of Winnipeg’s current Contractor costs for tree installation on boulevards is presently $450.00 per tree, but the trees are purchased and provided by the Urban Forestry Branch at an average cost of $214.00 per tree (tax excluded) for 50-60mm caliper ball and burlap trees. The cost of the trees for 2021 is based on our overall order of 2800 trees from four different nurseries.
Cheers,

Hello Folks,
I know talking numbers isn’t a favorite pastime of most (and some people are shy); however, I am looking to do a quick benchmarking of contract rates for street tree planting and would appreciate any information that you may have and would be willing to provide.
I am particularly interested in the unit rate costs for supply and install of 50-60mm caliper ball and burlap trees with warrantee and/or maintenance on a city street. I am most interested in street tree planting costs, not park trees, however, would be grateful for any info you would be willing to share
Thanks in advance
Crispin
