Kristina,

Excellent question: in short, every gallon of fuel you use planting the
trees negates approx 5 years of carbon sequestration of newly planted trees
and shrubs. It’s difficult to transport soil and trees without fossil power
and as such, you should try to minimize movement of soil and vegetation.
