[CANUFNET] Trees on Private Property: Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal we need you

We recently called out for information on municipalities where there was
protection for trees on private property and we appreciate all the
responses we received.

Because the City of Edmonton's Administration has been historically
presenting reports to Council that are not in favour of bylaw protection*, *

*we are still looking for statements from people in larger municipalities
with trees on private property protection to say what is working in their
city or why the bylaw has been good for their city*

Here are the typical reasons why our city administration has not been in
favour:
1. The need for additional staff & resources
2. Increased permitting timelines
3. Increased development fees
All this equals “barriers to development” and the City of Edmonton
Administration prefers an education approach .
