[CANUFNET] Urban Forestry Conference

Hi Everyone,

Four Winnipeg activists will be doing an information session at the National Urban Forestry Conference in Winnipeg discussing the ways in which urban foresters can reach out to the community and establish beneficial relationships with advocacy groups and individuals to further the goals of protecting, maintaining and expanding  urban canopies. I hope it will be an interesting and inspiring session, documenting how we, as groups or individuals, have worked with Winnipeg urban forestry, members of city council, neighbourhood associations and community groups to lobby for increased forestry budgets, raise public awareness about the benefits of trees and engage people in planting new trees, especially in low income neighbourhoods.

I hope many of you can attend the session Wednesday morning, October 17th!
