The University of Manitoba School of Agriculture is offering their in-person winter 2025 Arboriculture course: * In-person classes will be held on Tuesday evenings over a 12-week period from January 28th to April 22nd, with a Tree ID workshop on Saturday, April 12th and a final exam (exam date TBA at start of course). The course is taught by an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist who also has extensive experience within the arboriculture industry in Manitoba. * The course is an introduction to the field of Arboriculture. Participants learn about pruning techniques, pests, diseases, environmental stresses and other factors that affect urban tree health. In addition, the course covers worker safety, tree biology, soil science, plant classification and identification. * Designed for tree care workers who are preparing for the ISA exam, for landscaping and horticultural professionals, and for those interested in caring for their trees as hobbyists. * Registration is now open.
