Hi

I have heard a technique where someone used a diamond plate over the root. Bending the diamond plate iver the root drilled a hole in he diamond plate attached the plates to the root with bitls then cemented over the plate. This seemed to still work ten years after the intelation. I guess the plate stoped the root from growing wider vertically any pushing the sidewalk up. The root would widen horizontally only. The other thing I have seen is building a steel great over the roots like a bridge. I guess you would have to build a ramp then install footings so the bridge sits in the footings.

Not sure if this helps but might give you some ideas.

Cheers

Shawn

In our town, Annapolis, Maryland, USA, we use brick pavers to rebuild the sidewalk “occasionally" to lift up the sidewalk. Here is a photo of the most extreme tree we are managing with the rebuild method. Note that most of the trees are pretty good for much of their life time with no intervention. It is a tree by tree solution.
