glamour stuff that you can point a tourist to, but the way our city is a
collection of vibrant neighbourhoods, villages, cultures, and local
businesses.  

 

Jeb Brugmann also knows the power of cities.  For more than two decades, he
has worked on strategies to address global issues at the local level – from
climate change to economic reform.  From 1990 to 2000, he served as founding
secretary general of the International Council for Local Environmental
Initiatives, the international environmental agency for cities, counties and
towns.

 

More than half of Earth’s people now reside in cites. Close to two billion
more will join them in the next twenty five years. In Welcome to the Urban
Revolution, Jeb draws on two decades of field experience to offer a powerful
reappraisal of the anatomy of the living city at the dawn of the urban
