Transport Futures -
Mobility Pricing Stakeholder Forum
November 22, 2011 @ Metropolitan Hotel, Toronto, Ontario
Supported by the Conservation Council of Ontario
Progressive governments use road tolls, parking fees, gas and carbon taxes
to reduce traffic congestion, fight climate change and generate revenue for
transportation infrastructure. Nevertheless, mentioning any one of these
mobility pricing measures in Canada often elicits strong reactions from
businesses, non-profits and the media, who, in turn, influence political and
public acceptance. What is the rationale for their views? Under what
implementation conditions would their opinions change? Join us at Transport
Futures to discover the answers and help create a meaningful public
consultation strategy with these leading stakeholders and international
experts:
* Kurt Van Dender, Chief Economist, International Transport Forum at
the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Paris, France
* Jens Schade, Associate Professor, Dresden University of
Technology, Dresden, Germany
* David Hill, National Practice Leader - Parking Solutions, MMM
Group, Calgary, Alberta
* Teresa Di Felice, Director of Government and Community Relations,
Canadian Automobile Association - South Central Ontario, Thornhill, Ontario
* Royson James, Columnist, The Toronto Star, Toronto, Ontario
* Richard Joy, Vice President, Policy and Government Relations,
Toronto Board of Trade, Toronto, Ontario
* Gregory Thomas, Federal and Ontario Director, Canadian Taxpayers
Federation, Ottawa, Ontario
. and others to be confirmed soon!
