2012 promises to be a challenging year on many levels: Canada's record on
climate change, the rising cost of living and the fragile global economy,
and the budget cuts all around.

There has never been a time when conservation was more important!

Please join us as we...

*	celebrate 60 years of conservation
*	welcome new members
*	conduct our annual business
*	plan to make conservation a provincial priority for 2012

Nominations
We will be voting in new members, so if you are not a member, but are
passionate about conservation and have skills or expertise you can
contribute, please fill out an application to become a
<http://www.cco.wildapricot.org/membership>  Council member (Individual,
Organization, Corporate, or Municipal).

We are also accepting nominations / applications for Board positions.

How to survive 2012.

To kick off 2012, we're running a simple campaign:  Keep Calm and Conserve.

Light-hearted, as usual, but with a serious message.  If we want to solve
the big environmental problems (like climate change), an economic downturn
and the rising cost of living, look no further than the one simple solution:
conserve. 

But seriously, with all the talk about how important conservation is these
days, you'd think there would be more programs to help make conservation
easy, affordable and desirable.   

Feel free to download a poster, or adapt the artwork to your own needs.

DIVERSITY MINI-GRANTS FOR
ONTARIO ENVIRONMENTAL NGOS

The Environment & Diversity Project is a four-year collaborative run by the
Sustainability Network. It is designed to help the Ontario environmental NGO
community consider, develop and implement strategies to better reflect and
engage under-represented communities. 

The Sustainability Network ispleased to announce the second of two annual
rounds of Environment & Diversity Project mini-grants. Funds are available
to support environmental nonprofits and help them better reflect and engage
ethno-cultural and Aboriginal communities by responding to the extensive
knowledge, interests and important needs of those communities. 

Grants to a maximum of $5000 will be made. Applications must be submitted by
e-mail to info at sustainabilitynetwork.ca
<mailto:info at sustainabilitynetwork.ca?subject=EDP%20Mini%20Grants>  by
5:00pm EST February 15th, 2012. Decisions will be made by February 28th,
2012. 

Organizations that have received funding during the 2011 granting period are
not eligible for funding in 2012.
