Ontario must move quickly to phase out gas-fired electricity generation

Ontario is planning to hugely increase the use of gas-fired power plants to replace aging nuclear. This is a disastrous strategy for our climate and will result in a 500% increase in electricity sector greenhouse gas pollution. And if that happens, it will be impossible for Ontario to meet its already inadequate climate targets. My op ed.

Suing the Government over Climate Inaction

Wed. April 14, 1 p.m EST

What can you do when the government won’t act on climate? Or worse, cancels green projects? You could turn to the Constitution’s guarantee of “life, liberty and security of the person.” That’s how seven young Ontario activists are suing the Ford Government. Taking government to court is just one way of trying to get real action on the climate crisis. We’ll examine other similar cases. And find out how effective the legal route is.
