Rally to Stop Ford's Privatization of Health Care
Wed. Feb. 22, 5 p.m. ET
University and College, Toronto
There's a health care crisis in Ontario. By allowing the for-profit delivery of surgeries, Doug Ford is threatening to turn parts of our treasured universal public health care system into a for-profit business. A two-tiered health care system will leave millions of Ontarians behind. Access to health care shouldn't depend on the size of your wallet. Ontarians deserve to access health care when they need it with their OHIP card, not their credit card. It's time to show our support for more investment in public health care, not privatization and cuts. Hosted by MPP Jessica Bell, MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam and other health care stakeholders.

Electrify Your Fleet
Wed. Feb. 22, 1 p.m. ET
EV adoption is on the rise. It is critical for climate action and goes beyond individuals buying their own personal electric vehicles. There is a big opportunity for Indigenous communities and organizations that have fleets of vehicles, to electrify their fleets, which can have cost-saving implications among other benefits. This Electrify Your Fleet webinar is designed to help you understand what it would look like to transition to an electric fleet and to provide valuable information beyond the considerations required for individual EV ownership.

The Climate Crisis and Why Nuclear Power is Not the Solution - with Elizabeth May
Mon. Feb. 27, 5 pm ET
Elizabeth May will address questions central to current public policy debates in Canada: Should nuclear power be part of a climate action plan? How should we respond to the climate crisis? Canada is proposing a wide range of actions to address the climate crisis, including supporting the expansion of nuclear infrastructure in the form of small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). In New Brunswick, the SMRs propose to extract plutonium from used nuclear fuel, raising weapons proliferation concerns in addition to the well-known environmental impacts of nuclear power. Does an expansion of nuclear power fit in a responsible climate action plan? What are the alternatives to address the urgency of the climate crisis?
